You will be presented with 4 options - Ride, Settings, Join As Spectator, and Set Password. Select to create a new lobby then type in the lobby name. You will see a list of lobbies, along with the player counts in each, separated by lobbies that have not yet started, and lobbies that have. To create a multiplayer lobby, pause the game, select Ride, then Multiplayer Lobby.
Every console's playerbase is strictly limited to anyone using the same console otherwise, in the case of the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. As it is easiest to update the Steam version relative to the other platforms, there may be instances where the Steam version cannot cross-play with the Microsoft Store and Xbox Series X/S versions. Cross-platform multiplayer only works when all versions of the game on different consoles are on the same build. Descenders previously did not launch into Early Access with multiplayer it was a purely solo experience that featured online leaderboards.
